BGLAP and hyperthyroidism: This study included 52 male subjects with hyperthyroidism secondary to GD or toxic MNG, along with 25 controls. Biochemical assays indicating bone turnover were obtained, including serum total calcium, phosphorus, total alkaline phosphatase, bone-specific alkaline phosphatase (B-ALP), osteocalcin (OC), and carboxy-terminal telopeptide of type l collagen (β-CTx). Urinary calcium, urinary deoxypyridinoline (DXP), and urinary creatinine were also collected.
