Our findings confirm those of Yi et al., and extend them to a population that included patients with non-diabetic CKD and patients with lower levels of eGFR, including a sizeable fraction of patients with CKD stage G4.38 Our study provides support for extending SGLT2 inhibitor use broadly to patients with advanced CKD irrespective of age or sex. This evidence concerns the gene SLC5A2 and chronic kidney disease.
