ZEB1 is upregulated in colorectal cancer, alongside other types of cancer such as those of the bladder, breast, stomach, pancreas and prostrate, and endometrial adenocarcinoma, oesophageal squamous cell carcinoma, head and neck squamous cell carcinoma, hepatocarcinoma, leiomyosarcoma and lung carcinoma [56, 57].The expression of this protein is also associated with resistance to oxaliplatin chemotherapy widely used in the clinical treatment of CC [58]. This evidence concerns the gene ZEB1 and lung carcinoma.
