However, when we analyzed the ability of 129sve and 129sve 5LO−/− mice to control glycemia after insulin administration, we observed that 129sve T1D mice had difficulty in reducing plasma glucose concentration, even with Cap treatment; however, as previously verified in our work33, 129sve 5LO−/− T1D mice were able to better control the glucose levels—and more markedly, in the group that received Cap treatment, indicating the possible role of LTs in reducing functionality of the insulin signaling pathway, as observed in other studies7,8, in this case, also in T1D33.
