30‐day mortality was associated with increasing age, inpatient bleeding episodes, melena, syncope, anti‐coagulant use, increasing number of medications, underlying liver/gastrointestinal disease, underlying cardiovascular disease, underlying respiratory disease, advanced rheumatological disease, advanced renal disease, underlying malignancy, tachycardia, hypotension, lower Hb and raised urea levels.
