AQP3 and colorectal carcinoma: On the other hand, AQP3 overexpression induced by human epidermal growth factor could facilitate colorectal carcinoma cell migration, while phosphatidylinositol 3-kinase (PI3K) and protein kinase B (Akt) inhibitor would inhibit the upregulated expression of AQP3 in human colorectal carcinoma cells, indicating the important role of AQP3 in cell growth and migration by regulation of PI3K/Akt signaling pathway (Li et al., 2013).
