For a few years, the biotin-dependent enzyme pyruvate carboxylase (PC), which catalyzes the carboxylation of pyruvate to oxaloacetate, has been linked to metabolic reprogramming in multiple cancer models by replenishment of the TCA cycle intermediates (Cappel et al, 2019; Kiesel et al, 2021; Sheng et al, 2022).
