MAPT and early-onset autosomal dominant Alzheimer disease: Neuroinflammation appears to be the underpinning pathophysiology of COVID-19, which can directly and/or indirectly crosstalk with the pathogenesis of Alzheimer’s disease, through several potential mechanisms, including beta-amyloid plaque formation, tau hyperphosphorylation, and cerebral vascular dysfunction [37, 41, 49, 78].
