The sensitivity of anti-tissue transglutaminase (TTG) antibody [anti-TTG immunoglobulin A (IgA)]-based tests varied between 52.9% and 82.3% when they were used to identify CeD patients in lower-risk populations (prevalence of CeD is between 5% and 10%) (2, 3), and the tests may perform even less well in the general population where the prevalence of CeD is very low (≈1%). Here, TGM2 is linked to cranioectodermal dysplasia.
