CXCL8 and Guillain-Barre syndrome: Taking GBS-ds of 3 points (inability to walk unaided) as a cut-off for severe impairment in the acute phase of the disease, we found that the group with a more severe impairment had significantly higher pre-treatment levels of IL8 compared to the group with a milder impairment at the time of sampling (p = 0.01), and at nadir (p = 0.002).
