The role of Lp-PLA2 in metabolic tissue mainly includes participating in inflammatory reaction by releasing bioactive substances such as free fatty acids and lysophosphatidylcholine [24], regulating apoptosis and inducing platelet aggregation, thus participating in the physiological and pathological processes of thrombosis [25], which is a key risk factor of atherosclerosis. Here, PLA2G7 is linked to atherosclerosis.
