Specifically, visfatin/eNAMPT is an adipocytokine that has been proposed as a marker of endothelial dysfunction and vascular damage (Romacho et al., 2013), and visfatin/eNAMPT was shown to produce in vivo endothelial dysfunction in mice via toll-like receptor-4 (TLR4)-mediated pathway (Romacho et al., 2020). This evidence concerns the gene TLR4 and endothelial dysfunction.
