After DKD rats were administered astragaloside IV, the blood glucose and some indexes related to kidney injury improved, the renal protein expression of the p-phosphatidylinositide 3-kinases (PI3K)/PI3K, p-Akt/Akt, p-forkhead box-O1 (FoxO1)/FoxO1 decreased, and Bcl-2/adenovirus E1B interacting protein 3 (BNIP3), microtubule-associated protein light chain 3 (LC3)-II/LC3-I, and Beclin 1 increased [56]. This evidence concerns the gene BCL2 and diabetic kidney disease.
