The IMbrave150 trial showed that as compared with sorafenib, combined atezolizumab (an anti-programmed death ligand 1 (PD-L1) monoclonal antibody) plus bevacizumab (an anti-vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) monoclonal antibody) (atezo/bev) therapy yielded significantly prolonged overall survival and progression-free survival in patients with unresectable HCC [3, 5, 6]. This evidence concerns the gene VEGFA and hepatocellular carcinoma.
