We previously reported that the scaffolding protein Caveolin-1 (CAV1) exerts a role as a tumor suppressor in different types of cancer [38,39,40,41], and we linked this function to its ability to form a complex with E-cadherin (E-cad) and thereby facilitate the sequestration of β-catenin (β-cat) to the plasma membrane. The gene discussed is CDH1; the disease is neoplasm.
