MiR-146a, known for its tumor suppressor function through binding to the 3’ UTRs of EGFR and NOTCH1 mRNA in breast cancer and glioma [107,108], was found to present lower levels in HPV+ PC cases compared to those in HPV− PC cases, and to correlate with an expected elevation of EGFR expression. This evidence concerns the gene EGFR and glioma.
