As the expression level (both mRNA and protein) of asprosin was detected in periodontium, an especially higher level was found in rats with periodontitis and the highest level was found in rats with periodontitis and obesity, this may suggest asprosin also induces the inflammatory development of periodontal disease and worsen the comorbid condition [6]. Here, FBN1 is linked to obesity due to melanocortin 4 receptor deficiency.
