CAMTA1 and periodontitis: A number of these genes, such as FCLR5, FAT3, AKAP3, RUNX2, and CAMTA1, are also involved in immune response pathways, so it is plausible that these variants or identified genes could be involved in a dysfunctional host microbial response in periodontitis, as the genera identified in this study to be associated with these genes was previously recognized as being associated with periodontitis.
