Considering that a higher expression of BCAR4 was also established as an independent predictive factor for tamoxifen resistance and poor progression-free survival in ER+ breast cancer patients [80], the clinical relevance of these complex rearrangements involving BCAR4 in other tumor types, such as lung cancer, may become more apparent and demonstrate the utility of using highly multidimensional molecular analyses to uncover the targetable alterations that would otherwise be overlooked. This evidence concerns the gene BCAR4 and breast cancer.
