NFE2L2 and cancer: The implication of Nrf2 in controlling the immune response has been shown to be due to direct or indirect interaction with important innate immune components, including the toll-like receptors–NF-kB pathway, inflammasome signaling, and the type-I interferon response indicating an essential role for Nrf2 in diseases related to inflammation, cancer, and microbial infections [38,39,40].
