A study involving 145 spectra from biopsy samples of normal, BCC, and SCC cutaneous tissues, conducted with a near-infrared Raman spectrometer (NIR-RS) connected to a Raman probe, pinpointed key biochemicals such as actin, collagen, elastin, and triolein as indicative of the spectral properties of skin tissues. The gene discussed is ELN; the disease is skin basal cell carcinoma.
