As a dual approach, we mention the recently identified additional effects on the glucose profile of denosumab versus ibandronate in subjects with combined T2DM in terms of not only lowering fasting and postprandial glycaemia, but, also, of elevating GLP-1 (glucagon-like peptide) and decreasing dipeptidyl-peptidase (DPP-4) under RANKL (receptor activator of NF-κB ligand) inhibitor when compared to the mentioned intravenous bisphosphonate [129]. This evidence concerns the gene GCG and type 2 diabetes mellitus.
