In mouse models of NASH induced by HFD and CCl4, CA inhibits the transcription of profibrotic markers (including α-SMA, PC-1 and TIMP-1) and proinflammatory cytokines (including TNF-α, IL-1β, caspase-1 and IL-6) related to LF. This evidence concerns the gene ACTA1 and metabolic dysfunction-associated steatohepatitis.
