A mouse model of NASH induced by the MCD diet showed that glycyrrhizic acid and glycyrrhetinic acid inhibited deoxycholic acid-induced NLRP3 inflammasome-associated inflammation and blocked the mutual FXR-NLRP3 inflammasome pathways, significantly improving collagen deposition and decreasing the expression of α-SMA. The gene discussed is ACTA1; the disease is metabolic dysfunction-associated steatohepatitis.
