In this study, the exposure of PC3 cells to resistomycin (0.65, 1.3 μg/mL) resulted in a dose-dependent increase in several important apoptotic signaling proteins (Bax, caspase-3, and cytochrome-c), suggesting that resistomycin therapy could induce apoptosis in prostate cancer cells. The gene discussed is CASP3; the disease is prostate carcinoma.
