To investigate whether this observation was confirmed in an independent cohort, we also analyzed the association of FGFR3 mRNA expression with %African Ancestry data from the cancer genome atlas (TCGA) prostate adenocarcinoma (PRAD) dataset [1] using data available on cBioPortal [37,38] and determined that FGFR3 was one of the genes most strongly associated with %African (%AFR) ancestry (Spearman rho = 0.2, p = 1.479 × 10−5). This evidence concerns the gene FGFR3 and cancer.
