In the same individual, key driver genes such as KRAS, APC, and TP53 mutations were homogeneous across samples from CRC-PM patients, special AT-rich sequence-binding protein 2 (SATB2) lacked expression in most cases, while less common mutations such as RNA-binding motif protein 3 (RBM3) showed significant heterogeneity in different samples from the same patients. This evidence concerns the gene APC and colorectal carcinoma.
