Parkinson’s disease (PD) is associated with mutations in several proteins that have been linked with proteasomes, including alpha-synuclein (α-SNCA), protein deglycase DJ-1 (PARK7), UCHL1, PTEN-induced kinase 1 (PINK1), and PD protein 2 (PARK2, parkin) [119,120]. The gene discussed is PINK1; the disease is Parkinson disease.
