Another study in ovarian cancer analyzed the effect of the APOA1 peptides, L-4F and L-5F, and reported that, while L-4F repressed hypoxia-inducible factor-1α (HIF-1α) gene expression, L-5F suppressed intracellular levels of HIF-1α [203], indicating the role of the peptides in inhibiting angiogenesis and tumor growth. Here, HIF1A is linked to ovarian carcinoma.
