CXCL8 and cancer: A common occurrence appears to be the recruitment of neutrophils by TME‐derived IL‐8 (CXCL8)52, 54, 55 which has been shown to be upregulated in various cancer types, and not only does it contribute to neutrophil recruitment, but has also been shown to be pro‐tumorigenic by promoting angiogenesis, stemness of cancer cells and the epithelial‐to‐mesenchymal transition (EMT) of cancer cells.54
