GLI2 and keloid: To explore the role of GLIs in keloid pathogenesis, we next analyzed the expression of GLIs in fibroblasts and stem-like cells from keloid patients and found that the expression of GLI1, but not GLI2 and GLI3, was enhanced specifically in stem-like cells from keloid tissues and also adjacent normal-looking tissues, but not in keloid fibroblasts (Fig. 2a, b).
