To confirm that the MOG-Fc is folded correctly and is recognized by MOG-specific antibodies, we performed an enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) using the MOG-specific (conformation-specific) monoclonal antibody 8.18C5 as well as sera from relapsing–remitting (RR) mice [24], which contain polyclonal MOG-specific antibodies that arose spontaneously and are essential for autoimmune disease development. The gene discussed is MOG; the disease is autoimmune disease.
