In contrast, γ-IR ApoE null mice had elevated levels of Gals3 (p = ns) and a 2-fold increase (p ≤ 0.05) in the expression of beta-myosin heavy chain (ßMHC), a marker of cardiac hypertrophy that is more pronounced in pressure overload (Gupta, 2007), suggesting γ-IR may induce different from simGCRsim pathways involved in cardiac remodeling (Figure 5C).
