In contrast, up- or down-regulation of METTL3 in bladder cancer cells can enhance or inhibit the transcriptions and protein expression of TEK and VEGF-A, which are components of the PI3K/AKT pathway respectively, thereby affecting the angiogenesis of bladder cancer via RNA methylation [72] (Fig. 2).
