Given that both deletion and point mutation of PAX5-TSS2 lead to stronger interactions between the PAX5 enhancer region and the ZCCHC7 promoter and a corresponding increase in ZCCHC7 mRNA expression (Extended Data Fig. 5c), we postulate that PAX5 promoter mutations in lymphoma cells increase ZCCHC7 expression. The gene discussed is ZCCHC7; the disease is lymphoma.
