IL10 and colorectal cancer: Notably, a recent randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled trial reported that oral administration of a mixture of six viable probiotic strains of lactobacilli and bifidobacteria reduced levels of pro-inflammatory cytokines (i.e., TNF-α, IL-17A, IL-17C, IL-22, and IL-12), but also of IL-10, and prevented post-surgical complications in patients with colorectal cancer (NCT03782428)[85].
