Brain imaging has shown that, although the findings are variable, affected individuals often present with cerebral and/or cerebellar atrophy.1-7,9,11 We measured the volume of the brain and the cerebellum in uba5ex1s/ex1s mutants at 6 dpf using a pan-neuronal fluorescent reporter strain [Tg(Huc:EGFP)] and live confocal microscopy. The gene discussed is ELAVL3; the disease is Cerebellar atrophy.
