Regarding the subset of CD4+CD25+FoxP3+ regulatory T cells (Tregs), the percentage of Tregs (% of CD25+Foxp3+ cells of all CD4 + T cells) was reduced in CAH (median 0.50% (range 0.28 – 0.85%), p < 0.0001), BADx [median 0.57% (range 0.33 – 0.83), p < 0.0001] and AD patients [median 0.26% (range 0.14 – 0.38), p < 0.0001] compared to controls (median 1.43% (range 0.98- 1.87%), with the lowest percentage of Tregs present in the subgroup of AD patients (CAH vs. AD p = 0.0486 and BADx vs. AD p = 0.0339, Figure 1B). The gene discussed is FOXP3; the disease is congenital adrenal hyperplasia.
