A subsequent review of multiple studies suggested that these same secondary features were both present at a higher rate in those with FAS but were also more prevalent, to a lesser degree, in those that had some features of FAS, such as growth deficiency, microcephaly or one of the sentinel facial features but who did not fulfill criteria for a diagnosis of FAS/pFAS based on the absence of 2 or more of the 3 sentinel facial features.
