In our study, TMEM44-AS1 can upregulate the expression level of GPX4, we conducted a series of rescue experiments in vitro and found that overexpression of GPX4 can restore ferroptosis caused by knocking down TMEM44-AS1, promoting the proliferation, migration, and invasion of ESCC cells. The gene discussed is TMEM44; the disease is esophageal squamous cell carcinoma.
