CRC-derived EV miR‐181a‐5p activates hepatic stellate cells (HSCs) via regulation of IL6/STAT3 signaling, which promotes secretion of CCL20 from α‐HSCs and further activation of the ERK1/2/Elk‐1 pathway via CCR6 and upregulation of miR‐181a‐5p in CRC cells, ultimately resulting in liver metastases [225]. The gene discussed is IL6; the disease is colorectal carcinoma.
