The role of those candidates was confirmed by the corrplot matrix, which showed a significant positive correlation of QDPR, ALDH1A1, TYMP, and THOP1 with several clinical variables associated with liver disease, such as cholesterol level, LDL, triglycerides, transaminases levels, and HbA1c, as well as with disease-associated scores such as FLI, APRI, and HOMA (Figure 8).
