Antiplatelet drugs, such as aspirin and P2Y12 inhibitors (clopidogrel, prasugrel), are commonly used to prevent and treat arterial clot formation, thus resulting in primary and secondary prevention of cardiovascular disease (myocardial infarction and thromboembolic stroke) and are also administered as dual therapy in patients undergoing artery stenting [29]. Here, P2RY12 is linked to myocardial infarction.
