Thirdly, as a major transporter for taurine export and import,[36] the expression of TauT was observed to be upregulated in both M2 macrophages and PCa cells, although at the same time, we also observed TauT expression in other cell types including CD8+ T cells.[37] Therefore, our findings indicate that during the resistance to ferroptosis, the crosstalk between tumor cells and macrophages is established mainly due to the high TauT expression level in both two types of cells for transport of taurine. The gene discussed is SLC6A6; the disease is neoplasm.
