Comparison of the general characteristics in the four subgroups of the ZJU index showed that participants with higher ZJU index levels exhibited higher white blood cell count, total cholesterol, TG, FBG, ALT, and uric acid values, and were at risk of hypertension, diabetes mellitus, obesity, and OSAS (all P for trend < 0.001). This evidence concerns the gene GPT and obesity due to melanocortin 4 receptor deficiency.
