In T1DM diabetic wounds, the improvement in the parameters of wound healing, such as wound contraction, epithelialization, and scar formation, correlated positively with the expression of miRNAs, miR-21, miR-23a, miR-146a, and miR-29b, and apoptotic genes Bax and caspase-3 and negatively with the relative expression of the antiapoptotic Bcl-2 gene, diabetic controls, FBS, HbA1c, and C-peptide (Table 5).
