An increasing body of evidence indicates that the NLRP3 inflammasome plays a pivotal role in the development and progression of various types of cancer, including gastrointestinal cancer, skin cancer, breast cancer, hepatocellular carcinoma, and lung cancer (Huang et al., 2019; Gouravani et al., 2020; Lin et al., 2021; Xu et al., 2021). This evidence concerns the gene NLRP3 and lung cancer.
