Menin is one of the most important parts of the KMT2A complex and is critical to develop and maintain leukemogenesis through epigenetic modulation.27,28 The first menin inhibitor was developed in 2012 with the ability to down-regulate the target genes involving in oncogenesis and induce both apoptosis and differentiation of leukemia cells harboring KMT2A translocations. The gene discussed is KMT2A; the disease is leukemia.
