Unsurprisingly, in several strains of transgenic mice models of AD, DIO has been observed to increase the levels of Aβ (Ho et al., 2004; Julien et al., 2010; Kohjima et al., 2010; Barron et al., 2013; Moser and Pike, 2017), as well as tau phosphorylation (Julien et al., 2010; Leboucher et al., 2013; Mehla et al., 2014; Takalo et al., 2014). This evidence concerns the gene MAPT and Alzheimer disease.
