Catecholaminergic polymorphic ventricular tachycardia (CPVT) is an inherited arrhythmia syndrome characterized by defective cardiac ryanodine receptor (RyR2) calcium release during times of adrenergic stimulation, resulting in bidirectional or polymorphic ventricular tachycardia. This evidence concerns the gene RYR2 and catecholaminergic polymorphic ventricular tachycardia.
