In osteoporosis, there is a high combination of pro-inflammatory factors (IL-1, TNF-α, IL-6, IL-11, IL-15, and IL-17) and active osteoclastogenesis, which results in an inflammatory environment with low pH (acidic microenvironment) in the bone tissue.4,40-42 Parolini et al reported that the homing and fusion of exosomes to cells and tissues with an inflammatory (acidic) state occurs more frequently. This evidence concerns the gene IL15 and osteoporosis.
